Could be worse, they could be having Auran's potential financial troubles after a bad release...

Ouch. Has anyone here played Fury?

NM, found this review:

Quote:
There's likely a breed of PvP aficionado out there who loves what Fury has to offer. We salute you, whatever kind of statistic-obsessed, spreadsheet-worshipper you are. For us, the biggest problem we kept running into was boredom. Fury never once grabbed us like other MMOs or arena shooters. We weren't compelled to keep queuing up for deathmatches, or sprint back to vendors to upgrade our equipment or skills. So while it's a competent game, we simply couldn't get into it. The Casio keyboard-like sound effects and hit-or-miss fantasy graphics don't help. While some of the level designs are cool, there's not much of a feel to this game world. Auran's Fury was advertised as an MMO without the useless, fatty bits. A game that, allegedly, offers players the only part they want out of the online experience, which apparently means PvP. Turns out the game just offers too little to keep us interested, and some of what is there shouldn't have been included to begin with.

I played the closed beta, it was just kinda eww. In the end after only a few hours it ate my computer.. After, I got it regurgitated and quickly squished Fury's life out of my computer. However my PC is still suffering some of the after effects Q_Q

Or there are actually people who like to play them.

GW isn't an MMO. It's just an Online RPG.

Sad that you had to attack him for speaking up for WoW. He didn't speak against GW at all.

WoW graphics are good, but ugly. When I play RPGs, I don't want them to look like Pixar movies.

On topic: It's an idiot writing a game review. What else is new?

That's actually a good reason why a lot of people like WoW's style: It's different.

I'm actually wondering if this review is a joke...I mean come on, this is the Guru. We suck at detecting sarcasm.

If it's sarcasm, it's even worse. I mean, it's not even remotely funny.

I find the whole scenario hard to believe: His friends recommended it, but he never tried it out? Went over to someone's house to take a look?

And on blind faith he bought every Chapter?

Meh, I'm probably giving this guy more attention than he deserves.

I've noticed that you jump in after these toxage inspired WoW discussions to approve or not based on whether GW attacks are included in the WoW praise. I don't care about that--its all obvioulsy intended to get a rise. What's sad is you allow your own WoW fanboyism to blind you to that. I've been running into these posts in multiple threads just today. What's really sad is someone who posts so much about one game in a forum devoted to one of its competitors.

I think the main premise that "this review was written by someone who did not, in fact, actually play Guild Wars for more than 30 minutes" has been beaten to death, and the WoW vs GW crap can go find some lonely corner to die in. Closed.
